On 14 January 2024, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II, abdicated and left the throne to her son HRH Crown prince Frederik, the new King Frederik X of Denmark.

USS Slater (DE-766) is a Cannon-class destroyer escort that served in the United States Navy and later in the Hellenic (Greek) Navy. Following service during World War II, the ship was transferred to Greece and renamed Aetos. Decommissioned in 1991, the destroyer escort was returned to the United States.

USS Slater is now a museum ship on the Hudson River in Albany, New York 

LST-325 was launched on 27 October 1942 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and commissioned on 1 February 1943. The ship operated in the North Africa area and participated in the invasions at Gela, Sicily and Salerno, Italy. On 6 June 1944, LST-325 was part of the largest armada in history by participating in the Normandy Landings at Omaha Beach. T-LST-325 was sent to Greece on 1 September 1964, as part of the grant-in-aid program. She served in the Hellenic Navy as RHS Syros (L-144) from 1964 to 1999.

100 Years of the German Radio Cartel - 100FK

 The local ham radio associations of the organizers of the 100FK event, S44 Mittweida, S54 Chemnitz-Süd and V13 Wismar University, celebrate in 2024 their individual 100-years-old historical roots. All founded in 1924, these radio clubs were active in the German Funk-Kartell. The centennial of these individual foundations is commemorated by the 100FK Sprint and Marathon Awards.

 The Amerigo Vespucci is a sailing vessel of the Italian Navy (Marina Militare) named after the explorer Amerigo Vespucci. Its home port is La Spezia, Italy, and it is in use as a training ship.
